MISC, MOL, NYK, OOCL, PIL to start SE Asia-NZ service

SHIPPING lines MISC, MOL, NYK, OOCL and PIL say that they are going to jointly operate a two-loop weekly service from Port Kelang and Singapore to New Zealand from February or March 2006. Deploying nine vessels ranging in capacity from 1,300 -1,600 TEU, the new service is designed to allow the partner lines to share space on each other`s vessels and extend their services to destinations which they do not presently cover, a joint statement said. Loop One, currently operated by MISC and PIL with five vessels on a 35-day round voyage, will call at: Port Kelang, Singapore, Brisbane, Auckland, Napier, Lyttleton, Wellington, Nelson. Loop Two, with four vessels, will call at Singapore, Tauranga, Lyttleton, Singapore, on a round voyage of 28 days.
